 Post subject: Antique Fly Rod

Here's another antique fly rod that I've recently refinished. The guy that owns this rod found it in the basement of an abandoned house. He wanted it restored to original condition.

It really looks fantastic! I have my great-grandad's split-bamboo flyrod...... All the hardware is there, but it's all chipped and unwrapping, due to age. It's a 3-piece, with extrea tip (4 pieces ni all) in a cotton partitioned sleeve. It was made by the SouthBend Company, and although I'm not sure of it's exact age, I do know it was manufactured prior to 1950. My great-grandad gave it to my dad shortly after WWII. I've often wondered what it would run to have it re-conditioned.......

There is an ols reel on it, as well....... not sure what manufacturer, though.
